Dr. Ashiq Abdulkareem is a Specialist Otolaryngologist with more than 10 years of experience in the diagnosis and management of ear, nose, throat, head and neck conditions in both adults and children.
He graduated in medicine from Government Medical College, Kannur, and completed his postgraduate training in ENT at Government Medical College, Kottayam, Kerala, India.
Prior to relocating to the UAE, he served for seven years as an ENT Specialist in Government Service, Kerala, India. He has subsequently gained several years of clinical and surgical experience in Abu Dhabi, managing a wide spectrum of routine and complex ENT conditions.
Dr. Ashiq has a special interest in rhinology and endoscopic sinus surgery, including Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS), septoplasty and the management of chronic rhinosinusitis and nasal obstruction. He has undertaken advanced hands-on training in endoscopic sinus surgery and rhinoplasty in the United Kingdom, further strengthening his expertise in modern rhinological and nasal surgical techniques.
He also has extensive experience in the management of ear and hearing disorders, including microscopic ear procedures, tympanoplasty, sudden and progressive hearing loss, tinnitus and other otological conditions.
With additional training in vestibular and balance disorders, Dr. Ashiq has a particular interest in the assessment and treatment of patients presenting with vertigo, dizziness and balance-related conditions.
His practice also includes pediatric ENT disorders, adenotonsillar disease, sleep-disordered breathing, microlaryngeal surgery for voice disorders, foreign-body removal and the management of acute ENT emergencies.
Dr. Ashiq follows an evidence-based and patient-centered approach, with emphasis on accurate diagnosis, appropriate medical treatment and minimally invasive surgical techniques whenever indicated.

As part of his advanced training in rhinology and endoscopic sinus surgery, Dr. Ashiq had the opportunity to train under Professor Peter-John Wormald, internationally recognized for his expertise in advanced sinus surgery, during the Advanced Sinus Surgery Course at Wessex, United Kingdom. The experience provided valuable exposure to advanced surgical concepts and contemporary techniques in endoscopic sinus surgery.
